These MVC files play in real time from the Vegas timeline, at least until I add too many corrections. It seems comparable to shooting with the JVC at 25mbps in the new AVCHD 2.0 mode - not a horrible loss of quality. At 25mbps, the clips still look really good, but they're a fraction of the Cineform size. This workflow is tremendously faster, uses far less drive space and allows for near real time playback. Drop that file into Vegas 11 and split it up where the shots butt up against one another. Export the unedited video from PD10 as a 3D m2ts file (MVC) at 25mbps. Select the JVC clips I'll use for a project and drop them into PowerDirector 10 in the order I intend to use them in Vegas.Ģ. Quality will take a hit, but I think it will be sufficient for my purposes until Edius 6.5 is finalized. Then I should be able to edit in Vegas normally. I'm going to import the JVC clips into PD10 and export them as 3D m2ts files. Since all the work I'm doing right now (family stuff and some short videos for Cyclopital3D) is not image-quality critical, I'm going to use PowerDirector 10 as an intermediate step. Edius also plays MVC files much more smoothly than Vegas on my systems. That was the dream workflow for JVC users, since no conversion of the MVC files was necessary (just like Vegas for Z10k and Sony users). I've all but given up on every having a smooth workflow with the JVC MVC files until Edius 6.5 (the 3D version) is released. I've had little glitches here and there all along, but Vegas 11 is far more unstable than Vegas 10 was for me. This is the same workflow I've been using the last few months. They're roughly 10x larger than the original mp4 files from the JVC TD1. Then I import those files into Vegas for "normal" editing. I convert to stereo pairs with MVCtoAVI Converter, then use Cineform FirstLight to mux the resulting files into a Cineform intermediate 60i 3D file.
